How to use CBDium long-term: Phases of use and 21-day pause

Just like any process, the use of CBD can be divided into several recommended stages. Although a 21-day break is not compulsory, it is a proven way to deepen the effects of CBD. 

By pausing the intake of phytocannabinoids, you allow the body to consolidate the processes it has started and facilitate cellular exchange, while you can reconsider those areas in your life where you still have room for improvement. 

First phase of using CBD: Start

One CBD treatment should last 3 months. After the first treatment, we recommend that you continue with the next treatment of the same length, right away. During this six-month period, the phytocannabinoids in cannabis facilitate the production of internal endocannabinoids, strengthening the endocannabinoid system and triggering the first positive external manifestations. 

The first thing most people notice is that their sleep improves, they start to remember their dreams, their appetite increases and they feel more energetic. Later, they realise that they have a clearer mind, they make decisions with more clarity and they can plan their activities better. Although these effects are often elusive, they are evidence that the endocannabinoid system is functioning properly.

Second phase of using CBD: Pause

Again, the time when it is appropriate to discontinue CBD is individual, but in most cases we recommend doing so after two-three months of treatment. 

The pause does not prevent the body from becoming lazy in the production of internal endocannabinoids, nor does it prevent addiction (the body is familiar with cannabinoids and cannot become dependent on its own substances).

The purpose of the pause is to stabilise and consolidate the  processes built up during the treatment. This is a time when you can focus on yourself and ask yourself: Why am I using CBD? How has it helped me with so far? How can I deepen its effects?

External changes

In order to ensure that the pause achieves its purpose, the initial reassessment should be followed by a change. However, not a radical one, which would unnecessarily throw the body off balance and cause a shock, albeit a positive one. Again, ask yourself: What can I do better for myself, but in a way that will not burden me mentally?

Try to do something in a different way, to perceive differently. If you do not get enough sleep, start sleeping an hour longer (longer sleep is often the most efficient change for the immune, lymphatic and endocrine systems). If you only eat twice a day, try adding a third meal. It is an inconspicuous detail, but it will do more for your body than you think.

Our tip for a change

At CBDium, we recommend introducing a simple 2-minute breathing exercise every time you take CBD. When you drop CBD under your tongue, let it rest for two minutes without swallowing, close your mouth, eyes and consciously breathe in. Inhale deep four seconds and exhale slowly eight seconds  Breathe through your nose.

Ten such breaths will give you two minutes (when taking CBD 3 times a day up to six minutes) of important time for yourself. Even in the busiest days.

However, the effect continues long after this time has elapsed. Two minutes of concentration and conscious oxygenation of the body will give you an energy supply for another two hours of effective functioning.

Third phase of using CBD: Deepening

In the first phase, the processes are set in motion, in the second they are consolidated and in the third they are deepened. After 21 days, the body has a functional endocannabinoid system. It is in homeostasis (i.e., the state of internal balance of the body’s systems) and ready to correct other associated problems.

After the pause, we recommend starting a new CBD treatment that can go even deeper, both physically and mentally. You will further strengthen your body and immunity, make changes in your life and discover new manifestations of the CBD treatment (e.g. noticeable balance and less susceptibility to stress, leading to an improvement in relationships).
